Would anyone really use a cash coupon drawn by a child?

Yes, we decided to go to "Ichiban Teahouse" because of a $50 cash coupon drawn by the owner's son.

That day it was so hot that we felt dizzy, but when we arrived at this teahouse located in the old street of Tamshui, it was really elegantly decorated. Why did we go up to the second floor and feel like we were in another space? The Japanese zen style makes you feel so comfortable.

I like to drink tea while looking out the window at the trees and their shadows. The best part was that the owner made the first brew, and then we were allowed to brew the tea by ourselves in our own way.

That day, we tried the Tong Ding Oolong and the black tea from Alibang. The Tong Ding Oolong has a special aroma like fried beans, lightly roasted and elegant; the black tea from Alibang is a signature tea from Shimen region, which is rich with intense flavours.  Worth recommending.

Their handmade tea desserts are also nice and exquisite: egg yolk cakes, pineapple cakes, and most especially the tea jelly made with Oriental Beauty. Another tea jelly with a small flower inside is also beautiful and delicious.

The whole tea tasting experience was relaxing. The seats are limited. Everyone was very quiet.

The owner, his wife and his son make up the special scenery of this tea house, and it feels very warm to operate in a family style.

Finally, we found out that we were actually the first customers to use this hand-painted cash coupon. Huh? The young man in charge of "marketing" even took a photo with us. Taiwanese people might be embarrassed about it, and many people thought it was just kids playing around.

P.S. It's a pity that I didn't take a picture of the little owner's cash coupon. An excuse to visit again!
